Summons must be the same element as the magic of the user.
Summons must be commanded with vocal or gestured commands.
Summons do not have their own class and cannot equip items.
Summons can not exceed the spell range equivalent to its rank.
Summons are considered grounded when summoned. If they are capable of flight, they must cast flight after they are summoned.
Summons can be bound, blinded, deafened, buffed, and debuffed. Summons, however, cannot be healed.
SUMMONING / ENHANCEMENTS
Summoning-type is not affected by general Magic Enhancements that affect specific spell-types. Summoning-type is only affected by Magic Enhancements listed under Summoning Enhancements.
As a summoner, any Magic Enhancements you acquire that affects specific spell types do not affect you e.g. if you get Overcharge (Defensive), it does not affect your own Defensive-type spells.
Magic Enhancements that affects specific spell types, however, do affect your summons e.g. if you get Overcharge (Defensive), it affects Defensive-type spells cast by your summons.
SUMMON SLOTS
Summoners may only have a limited number of summons sustained at the same time.
There can only be one of the same summon sustained at the same time e.g. a summon called Skeleton Warrior (D-rank) cannot be sustained multiple times.
Summons require 1 Summon Slot while Champion Summons require 2 Summon Slots to be sustained.
The total number of summons that can be used at the same time is referred to as Summon Slots:
D-rank: 2 Summon Slots
B-rank: 3 Summon Slots
S-rank: 4 Summon Slots
X-rank: 5 Summon Slots
Z-rank: 6 Summon Slots
MISC
It is not possible to copy Summoning-type spells.
Should you receive a Summoning-type spell through an item, it will not take up a Summon Slot when used.
------
GENERAL
You can create spells for your summons, however, these spells take up your spell slots.
Summons can only cast Offensive-type and Supplementary-type spells unless you acquire Magic Enhancements that allow for more types.
Summons must be listed as "Sustain" under duration.
Summons consume your mana when casting spells.
Should you have any cooldown reductions, they will apply to both you and the spells of your summons.
The mana reduction that you receive through Intelligence affects both you and spells cast by your summons.
Summons that are dismissed or destroyed in combat retain their exact spell cooldown count when summoned again e.g. you cast a S-rank spell with your summon and your summon gets destroyed, when you summon it again the cooldown is still at the count it was when it got destroyed.
Summons deal Physical Damage with their general attacks despite being a spell.
The durability of a summon cannot be affected by effects that increase spell durability.
You may give your summon as many spells as you wish should you have the spell slots available to do so.
The maximum rank of a spell a summon can cast depends on its rank
Summons can have as many spells in their arsenal as you wish as long as they have free slots. The maximum allowed rank of the spells they can cast is dependent on their rank:
